I'm Chris Tackett, a Brooklyn-based strategist with a passion for the environment, politics and storytelling.
I'm interested in helping progressive and environmental organizations use innovative social media and content strategies to support advocacy campaigns that advance social good.

As Social Media Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council, I set the social strategy and developed content and channel plans to grow NRDC's audience and community, while helping shape the organization's many advocacy campaigns. Over the course of six years, I grew my position into a team of eight. Before that I helped build and launch The Dodo, a popular animal news outlet. At Discovery Communications, I ran social and wrote about sustainability, politics, wildlife conservation and other topics for TreeHugger. I also helped launch Discovery's new eco-focused network, Planet Green, where I ran social and helped grow a community of viewers. During the early days of the progressive 'blogosphere,' I was a front page editor at The Raw Story. And got my start in journalism and internet marketing working at two newspapers in Lawrence, Kansas. Read more of my work history here.
